This project provides training in civic organization and Indigenous language education in the local Tsetal and Tsotsil communities. Its programs help to strengthen the abilities of children, youth and adults to read and write in their own language, to become more active civic participants, and to strengthen their cultural identity.
One of the goals of this project is to achieve greater cultural, social and organizational participation within the community. It aims to foster harmonious relations and agreements on development proposals that fit and serve the communities, and emphasizes the importance of civic participation.
In the face of the impoverishment and decline of ancestral knowledge around the world, this project also helps to share and support the biocultural memory and values of Indigenous peoples for the health and well-being of all.
